Things are busy at Hynish right now, and there’s a lot to share!

Infrastructure Project – it’s almost there

The big infrastructure project is in its final stretch. Interpretation boards and signage are still to be installed, along with ladders and mooring rings at the harbour and EV chargers across the three car parks. We’re really pleased with how the project has come together and can’t wait to see it fully complete.

Lighthouse Cottages Heritage Project gets under way in June

We’ve had our pre-start meeting for the Lighthouse Cottages Heritage Project, and it’s now confirmed to begin in June and run through to October. Exciting times ahead for this one.

Recruitment is in progress!

We’ve been genuinely delighted by the response to our two job vacancies – applications came in from across the UK and beyond. Interviews are taking place next week and we’re hoping to welcome two new team members very soon.

Blue Sky Books is staying put

We’re thrilled to confirm that Blue Sky Books will be remaining in their current home at Morton Boyd. Great news for the site and for everyone who loves a good browse.

Skerryvore Studio is looking fresh

The studio has had a lick of paint and is looking much better for it. The floor is still on the to-do list – we’ll be looking into funding for that – but it’s a big improvement.

Skerryvore Exhibition re-opens 1 April

The Skerryvore Exhibition opens its doors for 2026 on 1st April, and we’re looking forward to welcoming visitors to the site over Easter. Come and see us!
